Community Engagement and Collaboration

To strengthen the neighborhoods of northeast San Francisco, Tel-Hi works closely with local residents, organizations, and businesses and collaborates in the following ways:

• Serves as the host site for North Beach Community Court

• Offers our meeting place for neighborhood associations and other community groups

• Hosts holiday celebrations that bring the community together

• Partners with neighborhood groups on issues important to our community

Community Partnerships

Tel-Hi is a member of San Francisco Neighborhood Centers Together, a collaboration of neighborhood centers from throughout our city.  We share our space with other groups when possible.  From 6:00 - 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday we lend our space to North Mountain Zendo for group meditation.  For over 50 years the
Telegraph Hill Cooperative Nursery School has rented space from Tel-Hi to offer families a parent-run preschool program.  We also rent our gym to the Golden Gate Sport and Social Club for their adult athletics program.  In the evenings the following community organizations use our space free of charge to strengthen our neighborhood:

• District 3 Democratic Club
• Friends of Joe DiMaggio Playground
• Friends of Washington Square Park
• North Beach Neighbors
• Telegraph Hill Dwellers
